Member Policies, or How To Play Nicely
1. Members must reside within a 3 hour drive of our base in Fort Collins, CO. This is to assure that there is a reasonable chance members will be able to attend events. As this is a local community, our in-person time is our priority. All of our events are in-person. Members who live further than 3 hours' drive from our base, according to google maps, will be removed.
2. If a member would prefer not to have NoCo Outdoors Community publish photos or videos of them, they must inform leadership and decline from being in our group photos and videos. We use those photos and videos to post memories of our adventures and to show potential new members what our group is about and what kinds of activities we plan. This means that member photos and videos may appear on social media and on the website. Your member profiles are not public, but set to be only visible to other paid members. Once you have a profile, please add a clear photo of your face so we can recognize you when you come to events. It also helps us keep track of who is coming.
3. If problems arise between community members, and those members cannot find an agreement, you can report the issue to the leadership team and we will take whatever action is required to resolve the matter. The leadership team is comprised of Rebecca, the company's CEO, and our members who host events on a regular basis. The team managing resolution of issues between members will include members who know the people involved in the conflict or issue.
4. If the admin team and at least 2 community members agree that a member does not abide by our policies, we may notify the member, in a nice way, of the changes in behavior we want to see. If that member makes those changes, they may be able remain in the group. If not, that member will be removed from the community. The membership will be canceled, but there are no membership fee refunds, unless for some reason a new member is found to be unable to comply with our policies within one month of paying membership. In that case, the fee will be refunded in full. Depending on the issues brought forward, however, a member may be given notice of removal and removed immediately. Ultimately, NoCo Outdoors Community has the right to deny service to anyone without explanation. But we hope we can work things out, and we will attempt to do so whenever appropriate.
5. Event policies: You must sign the liability waiver any and every time you're asked, or you cannot participate in the event. This keeps us in business, so it's non-negotiable. Also, we leave on our adventures on time. Social meetings are less formal and you can arrive when you want, unless otherwise stated in the event posting. We are willing to wait a reasonable time for someone who has notified us that they are lost or running late. We also know that emergencies occur. If you have to miss an event you are signed up for, change your RSVP and/or contact the organizer of that event. If you just don't show up, you are added to the Naughty List of No Shows. No shows can cause someone else to miss out on an event who otherwise could have attended. If a member No Shows more than twice, without very good reason, they will no longer be a member. NOTE: The role of NoCo Outdoors Community is to provide outdoors events to encourage participation in outdoor recreation. However, community members act independently and NoCo Outdoors Community is not responsible for the actions of individual members involved in our events. At any time, when involved in outdoors activities, everyone should take safety precautions and be mindful of risks. Contact us at nocorecreation@gmail.com or (940)782-2410.
6. Members show respect for other people and for nature. This community does not accept unkind behavior, bigotry, hate speech, cyberbullying, harassment, posting offensive content, threatening, doxxing, spreading rumors, or using unkind or abusive language, especially if that language is directed at individuals or groups based on characteristics such as race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Cussing is absolutely fine, even encouraged, as long as it's not directed at someone or intended to cause harm.
7. IMPORTANT: After you purchase a membership, you will see a Thank You notice with a password that allows you to access events, members and groups, and the store. You will then need to become a Verified Member by attending an event. This is to protect our members from scams, bots, and general n'er-do-wells.
8. All members must agree to the contents of our Liability Waiver and confirm your agreement by filling out the Agreement Form (below).
SUBMIT THE POLICY AGREEMENT FORM BELOW. THIS IS REQUIRED OF ALL MEMBERS. PARTICIPATION IN ANY AND ALL EVENTS IMPLIES YOUR AGREEMENT WITH THESE POLICIES WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THIS FORM.
