NoCo Outdoors Community may change this Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the Effective Date above, and, in some cases, we may provide you with more prominent notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification). Please read the following privacy policy to understand how we use and protect the personal information you provide to us, or we receive and collect when you use our services, including how we collect it, and what we do with it, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard your personal information. We hope that this will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information with us.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to keep it up to date with legal requirements and the way we operate our business. You are responsible for reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically and informing yourself of any changes to this Privacy Policy. We suggest that you check back regularly to review any changes. If we make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will seek to inform you by notice on our website or email.
WHO IS NoCo Outdoors Community?
The NoCo Outdoors Community is 100% owned by Colorado Outdoors Community, LLC. We are a small business, located in Fort Collins, CO. In this Privacy Policy, any references to ‘we’, ‘our’, ‘us’, ‘NoCo Outdoors’ means ‘NoCo Outdoors Community’, or ‘Colorado Outdoors Community, LLC.'
‘Leadership team’ refers to all organizers and group leaders/event hosts. ‘Members’ refers to anyone who has a paid membership with NoCo Outdoors Community.
For the purposes of relevant data protection laws, NoCo Outdoors will be the primary controller of your personal data.This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected over this website, https://nocooutdoorscommunity.com.
WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU?
BECOMING A MEMBER, PURCHASING GEAR, OR SIGNING UP FOR AN EVENT
We will collect certain information from you when you interact with us on our website. Depending on your interaction with us and what products and services you use, typically we collect the following personal information:

your full name, postal address (if we mail an order to you), phone number, email address, any additional information you provide when using our store and signing up for events, which may include personal information.
We also process and store records of the products and services you have enquired about or purchased from us, as well as collect and process information relevant to your membership.
We collect your technical identity data (including IP addresses, browser type and versions, other technology on the device that you use to access our websites, some of which is collected automatically), as well as information about your usage of our websites as you and others browse our websites (see our separate “Cookies” policy for more information).
Through your user preferences on your account, if you link your user account to a social media account (e.g. Facebook or Twitter) you may exchange information between us and that social media provider – though you can at all times choose not to share that data through the user preferences on your accounts. On our website, if you go to your account page and scroll to the bottom, and you will see a link to disallow sharing of your information to third parties. Click the link, submit, and you will see a message in place of that link that assures you that your information is secure. This is in addition to our guarantee that we will never sell your information to a third party.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
We also integrate with third party service providers and payment gateways such as Wix Payments, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, First Bank Colorado to facilitate payments between you and us, and UPS or USPS regarding shipping information. In the majority of cases, to make a payment via credit card for your purchases, you will use the secure online events planning engine on our website. As with most websites, providing payment information is used only for the current payment, unless you indicate that you wish to store your credit card information for future purchases. Your credit card information is protected, as our website complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Unlike other websites, this company is local to its membership, so you also have the option to pay in person or in cash. Simply contact us. In some limited cases you may provide us with your credit card details over the phone; for example if NoCo Outdoors Community needs to provide you with a refund, your bank details may be collected and recorded by us for the purposes of providing the refund only.
We ask that you do not email or send in writing your payment card details to us at any time.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third party vendors and providers, including payment providers, in the case that you attend events that involve you paying a third party while on the event. For example, you may be on a camping trip, and the campsite requires information and/or fees from all attendees. If you have concerns about these third party vendors or providers, you should review any privacy policy related to their business to satisfy yourself as to how they protect and handle your personal information.
Calls with any representative of NoCo Outdoors Community will never be recorded, and all information shared in any calls will be strictly confidential.
PHOTO AND VIDEO
When you are adventuring with us during an event or trip, as part of your experience a photo or video may be taken either by the NoCo Outdoors Community group leader, or another member. We care about your privacy so if you do not wish for your photograph to be taken at any time, or to be included in any video, please let your event leader or the photographer know. Any photos taken by NoCo Outdoors Community members and group leaders) may be used on social media for marketing purposes, so please do let us know if you do not want your image used for this purpose. If you see that we have posted a photo with you in it and for whatever reason you want the photo taken down, we will do so within 5 workdays. Whilst we take every precaution to protect your privacy, we are not responsible for anyone outside our leadership and membership who may take your photograph or video you without our knowledge. We are not responsible for someone outside our leadership and membership posting photos on the internet.
On some occasions, we may engage professional photographers to take and obtain photos to use in our marketing materials. We ensure that all of our members are notified prior to the event if a professional photographer is being engaged and you have the right to say no or opt-out of being included in any photos being taken for these purposes, including any subsequent content or images use.
RESEARCH
We may contact you to seek your interest in taking part in surveys, giving feedback and in informal conversation about your opinions regarding the website, events, and overall experiences with us. This may include contacting you with a post-event feedback survey asking you to provide a score and comment on your experience. Where you have provided the relevant details, we may also contact you in response to your feedback to discuss your comments.
WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION?
We collect, hold and handle your personal information for a variety of business purposes (further information on each of which is set out below), including:

Necessary for the performance of a contract – When you make an enquiry or join an event with us, we rely on the legal basis that the processing of your personal information is necessary for the performance of your contract with us, i.e. completing an event as posted.
Legitimate Interest – Our legitimate interest means your information has a commercial business purpose and is necessary in order to provide a product or service to you and does not override your rights and freedoms as an individual. For example; as a member, we collect your email address for the purpose of communicating with you when necessary to communicate about the product or service you’re requesting or or events you’re signing up for, and for NoCo Outdoors Community to provide you with relevant information. We also rely on our legitimate interests to improve our products and services, and to prevent fraudulent activity on our online platforms and accounts (as set out more specifically below). When using personal data to serve our or a third party’s legitimate interest, we will always balance your rights and interests in the protection of your personal information against our rights and interests or those of the third party, including by using your information in a way which is proportionate and respects your privacy.
Vital Interest – we rely on the legal basis of vital interest in certain limited circumstances where it is essential to you and your health that we process your personal information; for example, to contact medical providers / insurance providers in the case of any medical emergency.
Consent – where required by applicable laws, we will obtain your prior consent prior to processing your personal information, including before sending you electronic marketing materials or as otherwise required by law.

Providing your personal data to us is voluntary. However, we cannot allow you to maintain membership if certain personal information is not provided. We may only be able to provide you with some products and services if we can only collect some personal data. For example, you cannot become a member without sharing your address, as we only allow members who reside within a certain area of the country.
MAKING AN ENQUIRY OR SIGNING UP FOR AN EVENT
We use your personal information to help organize our events and provide you with the products and services that are appropriate for your needs and goals. This includes types and locations of events. For example, we attempt to vary locations of events based on where our members live, as inclusion is one of our main goals, including reducing barriers to participation.

Depending on the event type, we may be required by a supplier to provide certain types of personal information in order to secure a booking (at a campsite, for example). Your contact details may be collected, by us or by the venue, in order to manage a relationship with you, including updates about your event details, providing relevant information and any applicable tickets, handling feedback and complaints, and to contact you in the event of an emergency.

On rare occasions, or in an emergency, we may request that you provide medical/health information and consent to its use by NoCo Outdoors Community to assist you in receiving emergency or urgent care. This consent is optional. However, it is highly recommended that information be provided (if requested) for your safety and wellbeing.
MARKETING AND OTHER INTERACTIONS
We will only engage in direct marketing in accordance with local, federal, and Colorado state laws.
Marketing is currently not a high priority for NoCo Outdoors Community, as we are a local, mostly word-of-mouth community. However, should we engage in any marketing, we will protect your privacy rights and to ensure you have control over how we manage marketing with you we will take steps to limit direct marketing to a reasonable and proportionate level and only send you communications which we believe may be of interest or relevance to you based on the products and services which you have purchased or have registered your interest in purchasing to date. RESEARCH
We conduct research and analyze your information, including feedback and comments, to help us improve our products and services and to enhance your customer experience, including customizing online content, and to improve your website experience. We also look for trends in attendance at events to help determine what types of events are most popular and successful. Most of this data is de-identified, as in attendance, being just a number of attendees.
We may contact you to seek your interest in taking part in planning, or surveys and interviews. You will never be required to participate in these types of activities. These interactions are designed to help us gain insight and understand certain things such as how to improve the services we provide, help us to understand our members’ needs and expectations, what days and times are best for specific types of activities, etc. Your information and details from our research activities may be stored or kept on file for future reference if relevant and will be de-identified where possible. We will not share any personal information related to these kinds of activities without your written consent.
SELLING DATA
We do not and will not sell your personal information under any circumstances.
WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?
We want you to feel reassured that you have control of the information you provide to us. Subject to certain exemptions, and depending on relevant data protection laws, including in some cases upon our legal basis for processing your information there are certain rights you have over your personal information.
